How Endocrine-Disrupting Chemicals Exacerbate COVID-19

Age and preexisting health conditions are the two of the biggest factors that determine how susceptible you are to COVID-19. Auto-immune diseases reduce immunity. Diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and high blood pressure are all preexisting conditions that make you more susceptible to COVID-19.

Unfortunately, in today’s environment, more and more young people are susceptible to these diseases than ever before. This can be credited to a number of factors, one of which is a large increase in endocrine-disrupting chemicals.

A huge body of research into a family of chemicals that alter hormone action, called endocrine-disrupting chemicals, has increasingly established them as significant contributors to the risk of these very diseases: diabetes, obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, reduced immunity, and more.

A report was released in 2012 by the World Health Organization and the United Nations Environmental program showed that endocrine-disrupting chemicals are a global health threat. Studies have been published over the last 20 years linking these chemicals to the same health problems that exacerbate COVID-19. BPA’s, PFOA’s, and many different pesticides are among some of the chemicals that are pointed out in this research.

This will not be our last pandemic. Due to the environmental implications of our lifestyle, the Earth will continue to release viruses as a biological defense. So how do we take better care of ourselves for the next pandemic, and for the future? An article by Organic Consumers talks about the importance of the FDA and the EPA regulating chemicals and better establishing what is safe and what isn’t. Additionally, they point out the importance of producing materials that are safe in the next generation of materials produced for consumers.

First, regulatory agencies like the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency need to use modern science to establish what is safe and what is not.

Second, we need the next generation of materials used in consumer products to be inherently safer than what we have today, because many of those products contain, and emit, endocrine-disrupting chemicals.

Youtube Bans Coronavirus Information that Goes Against the World Health Organization

Youtube’s chief executive Susan Wojcicki said in an interview that Youtube would be banning all content regarding coronavirus that contradicts The World Health Organization. Wojcicki says the goal is to get rid of “Misinformation on the platform”, by removing anything they deem “medically unsubstantiated”.

“Anything that would go against World Health Organization recommendations would be a violation of our policy.”

Unfortunately, what they deem medically unsubstantiated is entirely up to their discretion and not up for debate. It seems, as pointed out by Collective Evolution, that the information they deem medically unsubstantiated is information that negatively targets the establishment.

It seems that any type of information that threatens political/government, corporate and other elitist agendas is heavily targeted.

The censoring of information by supposed “fact-checkers” could easily be seen as a blatant violation of our right to free speech. Fact-checkers continually flag information as false, or “fake news” without giving counter-evidence that proves this information to be false.

How Deforestation Affects Pandemics

Deforestation can contribute to pandemics more than you may realize. When we wipe out forest space, forcing animals to live in smaller more densely populated environments, humans are more likely to come into contact with the infectious microbes these animals can carry. Animals themselves are also more likely to exchange infectious microbes, creating novel viruses, when they live in close quarters.

Yet despite years of global outcry, deforestation still runs rampant. An average of 28 million hectares of forest have been cut down annually since 2016, and there is no sign of a slowdown.

Stopping Deforestation Can Prevent Pandemics

Some of the most infectious viruses of the past two decades like Ebola, SARS, and SARS-CoV-2, have come from animals in dense tropical forests. Not only does deforestation increase the risks for novel viruses like this but it increases the spread of other viruses that originated in rain forests. A study released in 2019 showed that raising deforestation by 10% would result in a 3.3% rise in malaria cases or 7.4 million people around the world.

To decrease deforestation we as a society should eat less meat, eat less processed foods, and waste less food, lessening the demand for pastures and crops for biofuels and palm oils. Additionally, slowing population growth can slow deforestation. Providing women in developing countries with better education and access to contraceptives can slow population growth.

As we implement these solutions, we can also find new outbreaks earlier. Epidemiologists want to tiptoe into wild habitats and test mammals known to carry coronaviruses—bats, rodents, badgers, civets, pangolins and monkeys—to map how the germs are moving.

Sunlight and Alcohol Showed Effective at Killing Coronavirus, Alcohol More Effective Than Bleach

Officials say that COVID-19 weakens faster when exposed to high heat, humidity, and sunlight. The virus does well in indoor and dry conditions. This indicates that it is likely the virus will spread less in the summer, similar to the flu and other respiratory illnesses. It is very likely that after the initial outbreak we will have a “coronavirus season” like “Flu season”. Despite this hope, there have been some warm climate areas that were hit very hard by the coronavirus. On surfaces that are non- porous in dark, low- humidity areas like stainless steel, COVID-19 takes 18 hours to lose its strength by 50%. In high humidity areas, that time is shortened to six hours, and in areas with high humidity and sunlight combined, it becomes two minutes.

Additionally, research has shown that Isopropyl alcohol is more effective as a disinfectant than bleach. A quick google search brought up no headlines reporting this, and in fact, the top article is titled “CNN reported “Bleach and sunlight might kill the coronavirus on a park bench but they can be harmful to the body” But I’m sure this is just a coincidence and has nothing to do with the power of the Clorox company.

Wikileaks Shows how Big Pharma has Bought out the World Health Organization

In recent weeks, the World Health Organization has received a lot of attention, most recently when President Trump decided to cut funding from WHO in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. The president cut funding while claiming that WHO is mismanaging and covering up the full extent of the coronavirus spread.

Recently, Wikileaks has posted about the WHO on social media, sharing confidential documents released more than a decade ago. The documents point to the influence that “Big Pharma” has over the WHO.

The compilation of documents shows the influence of “Big Pharma” on the policymaking decisions of the WHO, the UN body safeguarding public health. These confidential documents were obtained by the drug industry before their public release to WHO member states.”

“Big Pharma” has a similar influence over Congress in D.C, making up the largest lobbying group in Washington. Large pharmaceutical companies have more lobbyists in Washington D.C than D.C has congressmen and senators. Despite the obvious hold on our government and the World Health Organization, this corruption isn’t highlighted in mainstream media.

Bayer Using Coronavirus as Excuse to not Pay for Glyphosate Damage

Even during the coronavirus pandemic, German company Bayer has shown increases in earnings in its first quarter. Despite a rise in earnings, Bayer is using the current economic downturn to avoid paying for glyphosate damages. In a statement released last Monday Bayer says the mediation process has been significantly slowed down due to the coronavirus.

Bayer credits its rise in earnings to those stockpiling drugs due to the pandemic. Despite the rise in earnings, the operating cash flow has decreased from 1 billion euros in the previous year to 189 million due to settlements.

The company will consider a deal only if it is financially reasonable and puts in place a mechanism to resolve potential future claims efficiently. This applies now more than ever,”

Werner Baumann, Cheif Executive

The number of plaintiffs in the U.S blaming glyphosate for cancer has risen 52,500 since its 48,600 in February. Bayer continues to deny claims that Roundup or glyphosate, the active ingredient, causes cancer, citing several independent studies that show it’s safe for human use.

Coronavirus Can Live on Surfaces for Hours, Study Shows

The CDC and other sources have shown that COVID-19 can live on surfaces for hours. Data shows that the virus was still detectable on copper for four hours, and cardboard for 24 hours, while it can live on stainless steel and plastic for up to 72 hours. It should be noted that the virus is predominately spread through airborne particles when someone sneezes or coughs.

As far as we know right now, people are much more likely to be infected by close contact with an infected person than by touching a contaminated surface. That said, it’s still important to be conscious of what we’re touching, especially high-touch surfaces”

How long does coronavirus live on different surfaces?

Although there is not a high risk of catching COVID-19 from surfaces like cardboard and plastic packages, or groceries, some recommend decontaminating these surfaces in a specific area before bringing them into your home. You can find out how to make homemade hand sanitizer here.
